TIN PRINTING INKS

EN-Series.

Application

The letters "EN" designate our tin printing ink system designed for printing on base-coated or bare sheet metal. The inks are based on alkyd-polyester vehicles that do not necessarily require a final varnishing due to their high degree of surface hardness after stoving (150 – 170 °C at 10 min. dwell time). Printing is carried out, for inst., on single or two color printing presses. Nevertheless it is possible to apply a final varnish coating wet-on-dry or wet-on-wet over these inks. Rejection is not to be expected. Their universal use simplifies the stock-keeping. The printed products range from technical packages like oil, beverage and coffee containers to sterilization-proof food packages as well as twist-off closures.

Special properties

  • Excellent printability in wet and dry offset.

  • Short drying time at the usual temperatures.

  • High rub and scuff resistance when dry.

  • High gloss.

  • Resistant to sterilization.

  • Resistant to deep drawing (doming).

  • Varnishable (also wet-on-wet).

Stock inks

As process inks (similar to the European set) we recommend:

  • Yellow 41 EN 4076 09 ("diaryl-free" pigmentation = 41 EN 4248 09)

  • Red 42 EN 4180 09

  • Blue 43 EN 4110 09

  • Black 49 EN 4110 09

Apart from these also basic colors for your own color blending, as well as silver, gold, trans-parent white and opaque white inks are available from stock. Special shades can be ordered ready-mixed.

Printing auxiliaries
