CARBONIZING BLACK
49 F 3583
For printing carbon copy sets.
This carbonizing black is a cold-carbonizing ink printable without being heated whereas so-called
heat-carbonizing inks need to be melted for printing.
A prerequisite for good copying properties of forms printed with cold-carbonizing inks is a
sufficient ink film thickness of at least 3 g/m2 . One has to be aware of the fact that part of the
printed ink is absorbed into the paper and that it is only the amount remaining on top that is
available for producing transcriptions in the desired good readability. Preference is therefore
definitely to be given to letterpress or dry offset printing.
Special characteristics
Contains predominantly vegetable-based binders.
Is suitable for uncoated paper.
Dries exclusively by absorption.
The copying quality of prints may diminish after extended storage under unfavorable
climatic conditions, e.g. at high temperatures. However, normally prints retain their transcription
capacity for at least half a year if a sufficiently thick ink film has been printed onto a suitable
stock.
Moreover, our Carbonizing Black 49 F 3583 can be used also for printing backgrounds on
security forms due to their good erase ability. On special request colored cold-carbonizing inks are also available.
