KERAFIX^® 8355 Series

Damping solution additive for heatset web offset
to reduce the amount of isopropanol.

KERAFIX-R is intended for use in web offset with alcohol damping units. An addition of 2 percent, as recommended, allows to reduce the isopropanol content to approx. 5 volume percent in alcohol damping systems equipped with ceramic rollers. Its special properties are:

• Prevents ink roller stripping.

• Formation of a stable, thin film of damping solution due to a specific reduction of surface tension.

• Formulated to suit the special requirements of ceramic rollers.

• Corrosion inhibited.

• Good protection of the printing plates.

• No pollution of the damping system.

• Marked reduction of paper fluff build up on the blanket.

   Despite the good buffer effect of KERAFIX-R, two varieties are necessary in order to permit the adjustment of all types of tap water qualities to the range of between pH 5.0 and 5.3 that is most favorable for printing. In case of doubt as to which product should be used, we are offering the service of a free water analysis.

Special characteristics

• 8355 09 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content under 250 mg/lit.

• 8355 19 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content above 250 mg/lit.

• The recommended addition of the KERAFIX 8355 series is 2%.
