HYDROFIX^® 8085 Series

Damping solution additive for heatset web offset.

HYDROFIX-A is a well proven damping solution for heat-set web offset and is designed for medium size and large runs when printing from presensitized and multi-metal plates. Best results are obtained in alcohol damping systems in combination with approx. 10 to 12 volume percent isopropyl alcohol. Its special properties are:

• Formation of a stable, thin damping solution film on the plate and in the damping unit.

• Extension of wash up intervals as the rubber blanket is kept clean for a prolonged period of time.

• Very rapid plate runoff.

• No pollution of the damping units.

• No stripping of the ink rollers.

  Two versions are available to adjust and stabilize the pH-value of any type of tap water in the range between 5.0 and 5.3 considered most suitable for printing. In case of doubt as to which product should be used, we are offering the service of a free water analysis. The recommended concentration for use is 2 percent. In alcohol damping systems additionally from 10 to max. 12 volume percent isopropyl are required.

Special characteristics

• 8085 09 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content under 250 mg/lit.

• 8085 19 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content above 250 mg/lit.

• The recommended concentration for use of the HYDROFIX 8085 series is 2%.
