COMBIFIX^® 8115  Series

Damping solution additive for sheet-fed offset.

COMBIFIX-XL is particularly recommended for sheet-fed offset presses with alcohol damping systems. The recommended dosage permits to reduce the isopropanol content in the damping solution of alcohol damping systems to about 8 volume percent. Its special properties are:

• Formation of a stable, thin damping solution film by a specific reduction of the surface tension.

• Excellent protection of the printing plates.

• No pollution of the damping units.

   Since it is not possible, despite the good buffer effect of COMBIFIX-XL, to adjust and stabilize the pH-value of any type of tap water in the range between 5.0 and 5.3 considered most suitable for printing, two versions of COMBIFIX-XL are available. In case of doubt as to which product should be used, we are offering the service of a free water analysis.

Special characteristics

• 8115 09 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content under 250 mg/lit.

• 8115 19 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content above 250 mg/lit.

• The recommended addition of the COMBIFIX 8115 series is 4%.
