COMBIFIX^® 8098 Series

Damping solution additive for sheet-fed offset.

COMBIFIX-XL is intended for use in sheet-fed offset with alcohol damping systems. An addition of 4 percent is advised and allows to reduce the isopropanol concentration in the damping solution of alcohol damping systems to about 8 volume percent. Its special properties are:

• Special additives prevent ink roller stripping caused by calcium salts.

• Formation of a stable, thin damping solution film.

• Good plate protection.

• No pollution of the damping units.

  Despite the good buffer effect of COMBIFIX-XL, two varieties are necessary in order to permit adjustment of all types of tap water qualities to the range of between pH 5.0 and 5.3 considered most suitable for printing. In case of doubt as to which product should be used, we are offering the service of a free water analysis.

Special characteristics

• 8098 09 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content under 250 mg/lit.

• 8098 19 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content above 250 mg/lit.

• The recommended addition of the COMBIFIX 8098 series is 4%.
