COMBIFIX^® 8054 Series

Damping solution additive for sheet-fed offset.

COMBIFIX-XL is recommended for sheet-fed offset with alcohol damping systems, especially for Alcolor. The recommended dosage of 4 percent permits to reduce the isopropanol content in the damping solution of alcohol damping systems to about 8 volume percent. Its special properties are:

• Formation of a stable, thin damping solution film.

• Specific reduction of surface tension.

• Good plate protection.

• No pollution of the damping units.

  Since it is not possible, despite the good buffer effect of COMBIFIX-XL, to adjust and stabilize the pH-value of any type of tap water in the range between 5.0 and 5.3 considered most suitable for printing, two versions of COMBIFIX are available. In case of doubt as to which product should be used, we are offering the service of a free water analysis.

Special characteristics

• 8054 09 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content under 250 mg/lit.

• 8054 19 for water with a hydrogen carbonate content above 250 mg/lit.

• The recommended addition of the COMBIFIX 8054 series is 4%.
